Introduction
Welcome to our blog! This blog will follow Gill, Steve and Ellie’s move to Australia and our adventures down under. Our adventure begins on the 30th April 2010 when we fly from Manchester to Singapore where we will spend three days exploring and shopping in the city then we will continue our journey to Melbourne, VIC where we will arrive at 09:00 on Tuesday 4th May.
Our dog, Xena (zeena) starts her journey on Thursday 29th April which is when we have to transport her down to Shropshire to the kennels She will then spend three days there before flying out on Monday 3rd May, she arrives early Wednesday morning (she will not have eaten for 36 hours) and then will be in quarantine for 30 days but they thankfully have visiting times!!
The house has been rented out and Steve’s car has been returned to the lease company so we have to vacate our property on Saturday 24th April, After which we will stay in our holiday home until Thursday 29th April then we are staying overnight at Manchester airport hotel ready for our early flight on Friday morning.

Hi Gill, Have just managed to view your Blog. You are obviously very busy down under. Sounds typical re your registration forms. We have friends who moved to Canada and it has taken them over two years to sort themselves out with residency. Sounds like there are quite a few english over there to mix with while you find your feet. I think you are very brave to move although we wanted to move to Canada in 1980 but with being an only child and Mum being an invalid we stayed put. They must just build the houses with warm weather in mind and never mind the draughts. Now being in an old farm house I know about those! The photos are lovely especially the beach ones. Ellie is so like you. Xena will be overjoyed to come out of kennels.
Love to all will keep in touch. Jean H.
